Facebook and Annoying Advertising

I've never been a massive Facebook fan but I did use it a convenient way of keeping track of a few friends and what they were up to, well over the last few days I've noticed that the advertising on Facebook has gotten even more obtursive and annoying which means I'll be using it far less than I did.

I'm sure this won't bother most people but if they keep up with the annoying advertising I hope at least a few people stop using Facebook as a result.

  1. There's this thing called adblock. Any browser other than IE plays nice with it. Or the other way around, or whatnot. There's also greasemonkey for firefox or some similar thing for chrome where you install this thing called userscripts and they "latch" on to websites you specify and modify the user experience at them. There's a bunch of those for getting rid of facebook ads.

  2. Hi

Sorry it took so long for me to respond but life has gone to hell for me recently, I tried a couple of utilities for IE which is the browser I use as I'm not really a fan of either Firefox of Chrome, I'm using Tracker Block and that seems to do a reasonable job at blocking most pop up add and not just on Facebook either.

    Thanks for your thoughts.
